SPRING HAIR TRENDS

I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of a better way to start off this upcoming spring season than with a new hair style! Hair is our number one accessory and a major source of self expression. Beside my fit, my hair is usually on the top of my mind when I feel like I need to spice things up. Silk press, knotless twist, a laid pony or adding color to your tresses there are so many hair trends to try this season. Let us add to your bookmarked styles, see the below hairstyles we are dying to try this Spring.

DEEP SIDE PART

Deep side parts are my fave! They make a typical everyday looks like a ponytail or fresh press look so glamours. This is one of the easiest trends to incorporate into your spring line up; all you need is a comb! You’ll instanly look and feel like a new woman.

THE PIXIE

If you are looking for a completely new look a major chop is the way to go. Pixie cuts have been in since the 90’s they are the perfect haircut to show off your face and turn heads. This look is for the daredevils; are you going to get your Halle Berry on sis?

KNEE LENGTH BRAIDS

Protective styles are always a no brainer as we enter into spring/festival season. With a bunch of spring activities and last minute plans popping up the ease of braids are perfect for girls on the go and oh so fly . Adding extra inches to this classic cultural doo will have you feeling like that girl; go in on the baby hairs to really take it there!

FLIP OUT

I owe my momma an apology! I spent years clowning her flip outs and now that they are back in I am praising her for never letting a good thing die! Flip outs are such a classic, but with the moment they are having now it’s starting to feel more modern than anything. You can wear this style so many ways: high pony, half up half down, straight middle part, etc. This is also one of the hottest styles right now; so don’t let the year go by without trying it out.

COLORED CURLS

For the curly and coily girls like me out there who are looking forward to playing around with their natural texture, but want to add something new; color is the best way to go! Find a tone that best compliments you natural color by adding highlights if you want to app it up dyeing your hair entirely with an exciting color would be poppin’ as well. Make sure to find a stylist that cares for natural textures to ensure those curls stay healthy :)

FEATHERED BANGS

Bangs are perfect if you are looking for a quick change. They instantly change your face in the best way if done properly. Feather bangs blend better with your hair and allow for movement so its easier to style whether up or down.

FRO

The afro is the most historic black hairstyle; varying in texture, volume and color there are many ways to make this style your own. Everyones curl pattern is different so no two fros are the same; find a shape that works for you and rock out your natural hair with confidence!

BODY WAVE

We love a good body wave! This look gives you volume plus shape and looks good on everyone. If you’re someone who tends to stick with silk press try picking up a curling wand/iron and adding in some curls to give you a bolder look.

SILK PRESS

Silk press are the corner stone of black girls existence a coming of age hair style if you will. That feeling you have after stepping out of the salon wit a fresh press is simply unmatched! Such a fresh low maintenance look, this style is for the girls who want to look good, but not do tooo much.
